West Hants Regional Municipality offers a year-round Free Equipment Loan Program with a variety of seasonal equipment available for use!
Whether you’re looking to explore the water, hit the trails, or enjoy an adventure, we’ve got the equipment to get you started.
Equipment can be requested on our new Equipment Loan Platform.
Requests for equipment are only approved for adults over the age of 18 with a piece of government-issued photo ID, but equipment can be used by all ages with an adult present!
Pick-up/Return locations are listed on the website, as well as hours of availability.
Equipment requests must be made a minimum of 48 hours in advance to accommodate time to process and approve the request.

- Stand-up Paddleboards
- Canoe Nordic Walking Poles
- Hippocampes (all-terrain wheelchairs, including water)
- Yard Games (washer toss, bocce, cornhole, checkers, tic-tac-toe)
Bicycles and E-bikes (limited quantity, conditions applied for e-bikes)
Adult Tricycles
Winter Equipment
- Snowshoes
- Nordic Walking Poles
- Cross Country Skis
- Polar Skis (attachments for strollers and wheelchairs)
- Ice Grips for boots
- Hippocampes (all-terrain wheelchairs)
- Sleds
Our equipment is limited and stored across various recreation hubs, and availability may differ by hub location (more locations coming in 2026!) Be sure to check what’s available near you when planning your loan.
