Spring/Summer Free Equipment Loan Program

Get outside and stay active with our free Equipment Loan Program! We offer a variety of outdoor gear, including: kayaks, sea kayaks, a canoe, hard top adult paddleboards, hard top junior paddleboards, inflatable adult paddleboards,  XL inflatable paddleboards, inflatable junior paddleboards, hippocampes, adult bikes, kids' bikes, tricycles, and walking poles.

Whether you’re looking to explore the water, hit the trails, or enjoy an adventure, we’ve got the equipment to get you started. Pick-up is Thursday evenings, and drop-offs vary between the two locations. In Windsor you must drop the equipment off on Tuesday evenings, and in Summerville you must drop the equipment off on Monday evenings.  

Community members are required to fill out the online forms linked below corresponding to their desired equipment location to make a reservation; we currently have 2 equipment locations, Windsor and Summerville.

 Policy Reminders: 

• ID : Upon arrival, you must fill out a form, please bring a valid ID in case of theft or damage to our equipment. 
• Late Arrival: If you are running late, please inform us as we leave the equipment loan building 15 minutes after the agreed-upon appointment.
• Loading Assistance: For liability reasons, we cannot assist with loading the equipment. Please bring an extra person to help with loading. 
• Equipment Cleaning: You must clean the equipment before dropping it off. 

 What is included with our equipment loans. 

• Kayaks: Boiler, rope, paddle, life jacket, roof racks 
• SUPs: Paddle, life jacket, pump (if inflatable)
• Canoe: Paddles, life jackets, boiler, roof racks, loading wheels

Winter FREE Equipment Loan Program

Snowshoes, cross country skis, ice grips, hippocampes, and polar skis for strollers!

 Reservations are required for all equipment: Call 902-798-8391 ext 214 - Please leave a voicemail. Your call will be returned and a pick up time will be arranged with you so that your equipment is ready on your arrival.

• Adults, with a piece of government issued photo ID, can borrow equipment for all ages!
• Pick up/drop off (after pre-reservation) is available Monday-Friday 8:30am - 7:30pm from the Windsor Community Centre, 78 Thomas St.
