If you are a new resident of West Hants or moving to a new location in the municipality and your property is connected to municipal water and sewer, it is required that you sign a water contract, creating an account tied to your property’s water meter.
Submit the completed form and pay the required deposit by visiting the Municipal Office at least five days in advance of requiring service. Deposits MUST be paid before the contract is considered active.

Terms and Conditions
In submitting this form, the customer acknowledges and agrees to abide by the rules and regulations of the West Hants Regional Municipality’s Water Utilities as approved or amended from time to time by the NOVA SCOTIA UTILITY AND REVIEW BOARD and acknowledges that this application shall become a binding contract when accepted by a Utility representative. The applicant agrees to take and pay for the water from the Water Utility in accordance with this application and to accept and pay for such services according to the Schedule of Rates, Rules and Regulations of the Water Utility, a copy of which can be found here on our website, https://www.westhants.ca/regional-water-utility.html
Fees:
- A $50.00 account creation fee charged on your first Water Utility invoice.
- A $100.00 *deposit is required at the time of signing the contract which will earn interest for the duration of the account. The contract will not be considered active until the deposit is paid.
*Should the contract holder cancel their water service and move out of the municipal water service area, the deposit and interest earned will be applied to their final utility notice before being refunded.
