EMO - Emergency Shelter Activation

WHRM’s Emergency Management Office (EMO) will activate due to the extreme arctic air weather event.
Shelter for those needing refuge from the extreme cold can register for this emergency shelter (details below).
*NOTE* this activation is NOT a warming or comfort centre for those seeking refreshments and charging devices, as those abilities are still available within our community.
Emergency Shelter Details:
Location: Windsor Community Centre, Room 3, 78 Thomas Street, Windsor
Dates/Times: Over-night shelter and refreshments will be provided 24 hours a day starting at 4 p.m, Friday, Feb. 3 and closing at Noon Sunday, Feb. 5.
Registration is available at the Community Center starting at:
Friday, Feb. 3 at 4 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m. that night.
Registration resumes Saturday, Feb. 4, from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.
Doors lock each night at 10 p.m.
Five Public Hearings - 5:00 p.m. Feb. 28th

The following Public Hearings are scheduled to describe and receive public input on the following:
#1 - proposed development agreement for 4190 Hwy 1, Garlands Crossing (PID 45003357) to allow a four (4) storey apartment building containing 21 apartment units, rooftop recreation space, and up to 3,000 sq. ft. of commercial space on the lot.
#2 - proposed amendments to the Hantsport, West Hants and Windsor Municipal Planning Strategies. The proposed amendments will establish a link between the Municipal Planning Strategies and a revised Public Participation Program for the Region.

#3 - proposed development agreement on PIDs 45338696, 45338688, and 45007010, Burgess Crescent, Windsor. The proposed development agreement is to permit an 8-unit townhouse development and attached 20-unit apartment building.
#4 - proposed development agreement at Highway 215, Cheverie (PID 45178944) to permit a campground.
#5 - proposed rezoning of PIDs 45366473, 45366481, 45366499, 45366507, and 45366515 on Bog Road to the Two-Unit Residential (R-2) zone.
