Provincial Volunteer David Blanchard
Ellershouse resident, David Blanchard receives provincial recognition at the 39th Annual Provincial Volunteer Awards Day Ceremonies in Halifax on April 15th. David Blanchard was honored as the Municipality of West Hants Provincial Representative Volunteer and was presented with a framed certificate from Lieutenant Governor, Brigadier General The Hon. J.J. Grant.

Windsor/West Hants/Hantsport Active Kids Healthy Kids Fund application deadline is January 18th. Are you thinking about or currently working on an initiative that gets youth active? Need a bit of funding to help your project? AKHK may be just what you’re looking for. Active Kids Healthy Kids is a fund meant to help communities to address innovative, non-traditional, creative, physical activity initiatives that enable youth to lead active lifestyles.

Jump Start Grants - Giving All Kids a Sporting Chance
Please find attached the
Jump Start Brochure - Application 2012 (166.22 kB) for the Kings–West Hants Chapter of the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program, which is to assist children from under-resourced families with the registration costs of recreation programs. There are three application periods with deadlines for April 6, July 3 and October 1 and the applications can be sent or dropped off at the addresses on the brochure.
